A butter worth spreading!

We have now introduced you to our new blog ‘Made In Warke’s Deli’. We want to tell you about the quality of goods which we use here in our Portstewart deli. First up – Abernethy Butter!

At Warke’s Deli we like to spoil our customers. That is why we are delighted to stock the fabulous range of Abernethy Butter which is surely one of Northern Ireland’s best ever success stories when it comes to artisan food.

Some of the world’s best chefs are falling over themselves to use Abernethy Butter in their restaurants. And most recently, the butter makers have secured a contract with Harrods. You will find this sublime product everywhere from Fortnum & Masons, Heston Blumenthal’s The Fat Duck to Marcus Wareing at the Berkeley in Knightsbridge.

And with this list of superstar clients you’d be forgiven for thinking husband and wife team, Alison and Will Abernethy are at home toasting their success and resting on their achievements. But this couldn’t be further from the truth as you will find this hard-working pair supporting food events right across the country or at home continually striving for excellence.

The passion the Abernethy’s have for their product shines through and  customer reviews such as this one from top Northern Ireland chef Niall McKenna are richly deserved. “Alison and Will Abernethy live, work and breathe the original meaning of artisan food producer creating a product which speaks volumes for their passion for hand churned butter.”

Based in Dromara, Co Down the Abernethys turned a hobby into a thriving business and Warke’s Deli is delighted to support it.

Allison and Will inherited their butter making skills from previous family generations and in 2005 decided to launch their family business.

At Warke’s Deli we salute the success the Abernethys are rightly enjoying. We can certainly identify with their passion for the products they offer, how this passion shines out when you meet them and their support for food producers right across Northern Ireland.

We love great ingredients used simply and what could be better than a slice of Ursa Minor Bread with a generous spreading of Abernethy Butter. If that whets your appetite be sure to visit us in Porstewart.

We hope you enjoy our blog. #madeinwarkesdeli
